Hakata Starlanes to Close in March

Hakata Starlanes, one of the largest bowling centers in Kyushu, will close this March. In addition to domestic and international bowling tournaments, the place frequently had been the venue for professional wrestling events and is known as “the west sanctuary of pro-wrestling” among the fans. The place was built 46 years ago and is located just steps from JR Hakata Station. The neighborhood is included in the city’s Hakata Connected project district, where relaxed construction regulations will soon come into effect. Therefore, the operating company and the building owners are looking to attract a redevelopment plan for the site. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 1/22/2019
