Hawks’ Uchikawa & Sarfate Close in on Career Milestones

Two Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks star players are closing in on major career milestones. First baseman Seiichi Uchikawa, who was injured for long stretches last year, starts the new season just 25 short of reaching 2,000 hits in the Nippon Professional Baseman (NPB). Last year’s Japan Series Most Valuable Player awardee Dennis Scott Sarfate needs to close out just 21 more games to become the first overseas player to reach 250 career saves in NPB. The Hawks started their 2018 campaign against the Orix Buffaloes at the Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome on March 30. Source: Jiji Press, 3/28/2018
