IMS Building to close in 2021

Mitsubishi Estate announced on January 9 that they plan to close the IMS (Inter Media Station) building in 2021. The facility opened in 1989 and is located in Tenjin, Fukuoka City. The 14-floor complex currently spans 45,000 square meters and is home to approximately 130 tenants. Mitsubishi intends to start reconstruction work on the premises in 2022. The company has not revealed specific details about the closure of the facility and the redevelopment plan, but they hope that the new building will help contribute to the Tenjin Big Bang urban redevelopment project.
