JAXA Announce Rocket Launch Schedule

On Dec. 8, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced a revised schedule for two of their rocket launches. The launch of a small-sized rocket called “SS520,” which failed to launch in January of this year, has been pushed back from Christmas Day to Dec. 28. The agency had planned to send a solid fuel rocket Epsilon into space on Nov. 12, but issues with the equipment made them decide to move the date to Jan. 17. The launch site will be at the Uchinoura Space Center, a facility close to Kimotsuki, Kagoshima Prefecture. The SS520 will feature a micro satellite from University of Tokyo, while Epsilon will be equipped with the earth observation satellite known as ASNARO 2. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 12/9/2017
