JR Kyushu announced that it is considering to increase the number of floors their JR Hakata City complex. A plan to construct a new level above the platforms of the regular JR tracks that stretches out towards the south of the current building is being examined. This will be one of the first large-scale movements in the Hakata area to compete with the Tenjin Big Bang project in the Tenjin area. The project will be included in JR Kyushu’s mid-term management plan. Source: Asahi Shimbun, 1/19/2019
