Lions and Tigers Return to Kumamoto Zoo

The lions and tigers that were moved out of the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens over two years ago due to the series of earthquakes that hit the local area will return to the facility this October. The animals were relocated to other zoos in Kyushu after cracks began to appear in their enclosures. Kumamoto City Mayor Kazufumi Onishi recently expressed his gratitude to the facilities that have been taking care of the animals since 2016. Source: Asahi Shimbun, 8/27/2018
