Fukuoka City announced on Jan. 22 that a scorpion-like creature was found in the container yard on the Island City in Higashi-ku. The creature was reportedly alive when a worker of the yard first noticed it on the 21st. Later on the 22nd, the city staff members found the dead body in a gutter. The creature measured approximately 7 cm. The body has been sent to an agency to identify the species. It could be the first reported discovery of a live scorpion in the Hakata Port.
