Monkey Spotted in Urban Fukuoka

A monkey has been spotted running wild around several areas of urban of Fukuoka. Prefectural police received a report of the monkey inside the backyard of a house in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City on August 18. Police rushed to the site where saw the monkey but it quickly fled the scene. Monkey sightings were reported from two more locations near Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome. Fukuoka City Zoo advises people to refrain from feeding the monkey or making loud noises in front of the monkey, which may encourage it to attack. Reports of monkey sightings around the city continued on the 20th. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 8/19/2019
