A Kagoshima Prefecture committee is searching for Takamori Saigo (Segodon) lookalikes. The Saigo One Grand Prix will assess entrants’ costumes, poses, and overall resemblance to the influential samurai. The judges will also take into consideration the contestants’ thoughts and affections towards Saigo. The nationwide competition is open to everyone regardless of nationality and gender. Organizers will be accepting applications until October 1. The winner will receive a trip around the Amami Islands. Source: Asahi Shimbun, 8/25/2018
