New Kirishima Shuzo Factory Completed

Kirishima Shuzo held a ceremony on July 26 to celebrate the completion of a new factory in Shibita-cho, Miyakonojo. A mixture of company executives and construction personnel attended the event. The company developed the new premises beside one of their existing factories in order to help with the production of the Black Kirishima potato shochu. The 32,000 sq m site will be able to produce approximately 81 kiloliters (45,000 bottles) of alcohol a day. A facility that can process the shochu residue that is left over from the production process has also been built. In total, the construction cost an estimated ¥15.2 billion.
