New Sightseeing Bus in Kitakyushu

Kitakyushu City has decided to test a tour bus that will explore the main sightseeing spots around Kokura and Kitakyushu Cities. The project will start in December and will last for three months. The number of international visitors to Kitakyushu reached 680,000 last year. The city believes that the public transportation system can be hard to understand, making it difficult for tourists to visit local attractions. Two buses per hour will run from 10 am to 7 pm. The route will start at JR Kokura Station and will visit various spots that are popular with tourists from abroad, including the local castle. Wi-Fi will be available onboard. Kitakyushu City hopes that the new service will encourage visitors to extend their stay in the area. Source: NHK News Web, 8/21/2018
