A new large-scale gymnasium is set to open in Island City this December. The Fukuoka City Sogo Taiikukan has a floor span of approximately 25,000 square meters, making it one of the biggest multi-purpose gyms in western Japan. The Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka basketball team will use the facility’s 5,000 seat arena as a base for their B.League matches. Training space will also available for people looking to practice martial arts and bouldering. The sport’s facility cost ¥9.5 billion to develop. Source: TNC, 10/19/2018
