A new set of shops and food stands specializing in sweets opened on the second floor of Fukuoka Airport’s Domestic Terminal on August 7. The refurbished section of the airport features 14 stores that offer Japanese and Western confectionery. A further six souvenir shops (including some that have relocated) are also based in the same area of the building. The new Sweet Hall will be open from 6:30 am to 9 pm and covers approximately 230 square meters. Local Kyushu brands have also set-up shop, including Goemon, a Yufuin-based company that sells half-baked cheesecakes and Swiss rolls. Source: Fukuoka International Airport, 8/7/2019
