On August 3, Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd (Nishitetsu) announced their plans for the Fukuoka Building and Tenjin Core facilities. The company intends to build one large 96 meter tall building. The new construction, which will have four underground floors and 19 floors above, will include office spaces, commercial facilities, and a hotel. Nishitetsu is aiming to include the adjacent-lying Tenjin Vivre in the development. The premises are set to open for business in spring 2024 and will become the central feature in Fukuoka City’s Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment project. The total construction cost is expected to exceed ¥40 billion. The president of Nishitetsu announced at a press conference that the company wants the new design to represent Fukuoka’s transformation.
