Preparations for the Rugby World Cup in Fukuoka

A committee was formed to promote the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which includes representatives from Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukuoka City, and various local companies. The committee recently met to confirm their business plans for the coming year. Three matches will be held inside Fukuoka City at the Level 5 Stadium between September and November 2019. Fukuoka Prefecture Governor Hiroshi Ogawa and Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima attended the committee meeting to discuss security concerns and the potential traffic problems that might arise. A match will be organized between an overseas rugby powerhouse and a local team from Fukuoka Prefecture to help the area prepare for the huge international competition.
