Startup World Cup – Kyushu Qualifier

The Kyushu qualifying leg of the Startup World Cup took place in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture on September 9. This competition sees entrepreneurs from more than 40 countries and regions around the world present their business plans for a chance to win $1,000,000. Ten companies delivered a pitch at the Kyushu contest in order to win the right to participate at the final round of domestic qualifiers, which will take place in Tokyo on October 5. Two businesses advanced to the next stage, including an Oita-based start-up that has developed a service to prevent infections using equipment that is sterilized with ultraviolet rays. The grand final will be held in the United States next spring. Source: RKB Mainichi Broadcasting Group, 9/9/2018
