英国発グローバル情報誌モノクルが発表する「世界で最も住みやすい都市」ランキングに、2008年に17位で登場して以来、毎年ランクインしてきた福岡市が、今年の発表では名前が入っていません。今回の発表に際してモノクル誌からの詳しい説明はありませんが、「これまで行ってきた調査を縮小し、今にふさわしくない指標を切り捨てました。生活の質の維持という点で、どの都市がスキルと野心をもって乗り切ったかを評価しました」としています。
