オーストラリア・ラグビー界のスーパースター、ニック・カミンズが、日本ラグビートップリーグ加盟のコカ・コーラレッドスパークスとの契約で福岡にやってきた！ウェスタン・フォースで活躍していたオーストラリア代表のニック選手は、勇敢な姿が世界一怖いもの知らずといわれるバジャー（アナグマ）に例えられ、愛称ハニーバジャー（バッジ）として母国では大の人気者。そんなバリバリの現役＆人気選手が福岡に来たのも、家族の事情を自分への新たな挑戦と捉えた彼の決断によるものだ。来福して間も無いバッジ、レッドスパークスでのトレーニングや試合の合間をぬって釣りやサイクリングをするのが、目下のお気に入りだとか。
すでに3試合出場し、敏捷性に長けた日本のラグビーで彼の体は2, 3kg引き締まったという。「レッドスパークスの選手は根性がすごいし勇敢だよ。」とバッジ。「不確かなときこそ全力投入！」を座右の銘とする彼が、福岡でみせる活躍を私たちも全力で応援したい。
