博多祇園山笠

福岡の夏の風物詩「博多祇園山笠」。770年以上の歴史がある博多を代表する伝統的祭りで櫛田神社の奉納行事である。趣向を凝らした飾り山笠は、見て回るのも楽しい。クライマックスは15日午前4時59分に始まる追い山笠。各流が5分毎に櫛田神社をスタートし威勢の良いかけ声とともに博多の街を走る姿は迫力満点だ。
