KIYAMA TOWN – PART Time ALT ( 4days a week, Saga Prefecture)

Global Learning Advancement Department (GLAD) is seeking passionate educators to be placed as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in pre-schools, elementary, junior high and senior high schools across Japan. Successful candidates will be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about English education.

KIYAMA TOWN – PART Time ALT ( 4days a week, Saga Prefecture)

This opening is for a part-time position as an assistant language teacher (ALT) in Kiyama Town, Saga prefecture beginning of April 2017, with the initial contract finishing at the end of March 2018. Kiyama Town is located next to Tosu city, Saga Pre, Ogori city and Chikushino city, Fukuoka Pre.

The placement will be in one junior high school in Kiyama Town, where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as school lunch, clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.

Contract dates:
April 2017 – March 2018

Position Requirements:
・Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
・Must have completed a university Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an English-speaking country
・Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan
・Must have conversational Japanese speaking skills
・Must have at least one year of English teaching experience at elementary schools, junior high schools and/or kindergartens in Japan
・Must be able to commute by train ( the nearest St. is Kiyama St, JR Kagoshima Line ) or by car
・Must have a strong interest in Japanese culture and language and be able to connect with Japanese people

Conditions:
・Base salary is \11,000 per day
・Monday to Friday. 8:05am to 4:35pm
( Usually working days are except for Wednesday, but they will be happy if an ALT can also work on Wednesday when planned schedules have changed because of school events )
・Transportation allowance is up to 15,000 yen a month
・Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education’s school calendar.

Others:
They hope an ALT to have school lunch with students and to help students with English speech contest and English memorization contest which will be held in fall
