JR Kyushu Considers Overnight Trains During Concert Rush

JR Kyushu is considering allowing passengers to stay overnight in parked trains during a major concert weekend in April, when hotel shortages are expected in Fukuoka. The plan follows announcements that the group Arashi will hold concerts at Mizuho PayPay Dome from April 24–26, while DREAMS COME TRUE will perform at Marine Messe Fukuoka on April 25–26. With thousands of fans expected to travel to the city, accommodation shortages and rising hotel prices have raised concerns. JR Kyushu President Yoji Komiya said the company is examining whether trains parked at stations such as Hakata could be opened as temporary sleeping spaces. Similar measures have previously been used when rail services were disrupted by accidents or disasters. Additional train services are also under consideration. Source: TNC News / FBS News
