Black Mountain Magic

“This surf- and music-themed bar and restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but the atmosphere, value, and friendly staff make the short walk to Kego worthwhile. Depending on the weather, grab one of the outdoor tables, huddle up to the counter bar, or lounge at spacious tables in the back room. With its wooden floors and tables, atmospheric lighting, upbeat rock, blues, or reggae music, and surfboards propped up here and there, Kuroyama manages to be both casual enough for the T-shirt crowd and sophisticated enough for the after-five suits. Equally welcoming is the menu, which features contemporary American favorites including delicious burgers (Dijon, Teriyaki, Salsa, Chicken) with homemade fries, pastas and salads, nachos, tacos, steaks and fish & chips. Everything is lovingly made to order and well worth the wait. Beverages include cocktails and an impressive list of international brews such as Irish Guinness, Australian “”XXXX”” and Mexican Corona. For the adventurous, how about a “”Beer Smoothie”” – chilled fruit juices mixed with the beer of your choice. Finally, the young at heart can indulge in a Vanilla & Coffee Milkshake (not on the menu, but available for 500yen), made with real ice cream and ground coffee beans – yummy! Groovy music, great food, large portions, reasonable prices and a casual vibe – see ya there!”
