The Bank of Japan released its quarterly report, commonly known as the Sakura Report, on economic conditions in Japan broken down by region. In January, the prognosis for the Kyushu/Okinawa region was that the economy would worsen, but the most recent report altered this to “drastically worsening”. This makes the fifth consecutive quarter that the BOJ has downgraded its forecast for the local economy.
