The third Fukuoka-Busan Forum to promote cooperation in the Korea Strait region was held in the South Korean city on the 1st. The theme of the forum was “Challenges and the Vision for a Transnational Regional Alliance”. The event featured the attendance of the mayors of both cities, who issued the Busan Proclamation 2008. For the first time, this proclamation also contained statements directed at the national governments of both countries. The fourth forum will be held in Fukuoka City in the fall of 2009.
