An exhibition featuring real samples from the asteroids Ryugu and Itokawa, brought back by Japan’s Hayabusa and Hayabusa2 space missions, has opened in Kitakyushu. The exhibit celebrates the 100th anniversary of the planetarium and includes a special screening program.
The Ryugu samples, collected in 2019, attracted global attention for containing amino acids, possibly offering clues about the origin of life and water on Earth. Organizers hope the display will spark public interest in space science. Source: Kitakyushu City Science Museum / Japan Planetarium Association
