Nagahama’s Food Scene Returns: Six Stalls Kickstart Revival

In Fukuoka City’s Nagahama district, where the number of food stalls had been on the decline, the evening of June 5 saw a revival with six new stalls opening for business signaling a resurrection of Nagahama’s food stall street.

The newly opened stalls, located in the Central Ward of Fukuoka City, sparked a resurgence in Nagahama district, where there were previously only two licensed stalls operating, primarily due to factors such as the aging of stall owners.

Starting around 7:30 PM on June 5, six new stalls began their business operations. Among them, traditional offerings such as grilled skewers and ramen are available, as well as stalls with menus featuring mentaiko (pollock roe), a regional specialty.

There are also expectations for another stall to open in the Nagahama district next month, signaling a continued revival and return of the vibrant atmosphere for Nagahama’s food stall street.
