Nakamura Gakuen Girls’ High School to Go Co-ed

Nakamura Gakuen Girls’ High School in Fukuoka City will transition to a co-educational system and rename itself Nakamura Gakuen High School starting April 2026. The associated Nakamura Gakuen Girls’ Middle School will also become co-ed. Meanwhile, Nakamura Gakuen Sanyo High School for boys will cease student intake from April 2026, and Sanyo Middle School will close once current students graduate. This shift will result in the absence of boys-only schools in Fukuoka Prefecture. Source: Nakamura Gakuen / NHK
