Oita Airport Renamed “Oita Hello Kitty Airport” for Expo Campaign

Oita Prefecture and Sanrio Entertainment have announced a tourism campaign in conjunction with the Osaka-Kansai Expo, temporarily rebranding Oita Airport as “Oita Hello Kitty Airport.” The campaign will feature themed decorations, character displays, photo spots, and limited-edition merchandise.

Running from April, the initiative also includes a trial shuttle bus service linking Oita Airport, Kitsuki Station, and Harmonyland, Sanrio’s theme park in Oita. The campaign aims to attract visitors and raise Oita’s profile as a tourism destination, with additional promotional activities planned at the Expo venue in September. Source: SANRIO CO., LTD.
