Finland’s most popular and famous coffee shop makes it debut in Japan right here in Fukuoka on Dec. 21! This afternoon we stopped by the new cafe before tomorrow’s grand opening. The bright and spacious cafe is located on the second floor of a building in Daimyo just off Nishi-dori and across the street from Ippudo’s Daimyo Honten. Apparently Finns love their coffee and many drink as much as seven cups per day! Robert’s Coffee is therefore lighter and more easy on the stomach, not to mention very tasty. They also offer many flavored coffees and, as an interesting nod to the local market, they will be serving “wagashi” Japanese sweets to match their coffees. We also look forward to tasting their cinnamon rolls, both Finnish style and American style. The cafe shares space with a community FM radio which will open on Jan. 11, 2013. Fukuoka has many fine cafes, and here’s another one to check out! Cafe hours: 10:00~22:00 every day, 2F Apeze Building, 1-12-5 Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. Tel: 092-725-8818
