Come get your dose of adorable fluffiness and soft tiny cuddles at Cat Fair at Daimaru! Apprehensive of the clawed kitties? Take this chance to discover the cat lady (or gentleman) in you! Warning: you won’t be able to fall out of love with these hairy creatures. Eighty kittens and cats of approximately forty different breeds are present at the event! There is a special area where you can admire and pet cats, a cat cafe, booths selling cat-related products, seminars on how to keep your pet cat happy, an exhibition of cat photos sent by the public, and a panel section with information on cats’ anatomy, lifestyle, habits and more. You can also visit the manekineko (lit. beckoning cat, a lucky charm often decorated at stores) figurines display, which includes rare models for sale. Fill in the event’s survey and submit it in the box set up at the venue to have the chance to become one of the three winners for a prize figurine! But don’t worry, the first one hundred people to enter each day during the event get a cute 2 cm tall manekineko figurine (one per person)! The figurines are made at Gotokuji Temple in Tokyo, which is famous for their manekineko. And if you want to bring a souvenir of your experience home, the event offers a photoshoot with cats for ¥500 per photo.
