A 66-year-old farmer in Yukuhashi City has been charged with violating animal welfare laws after allegedly drowning and disposing of seven animals, including cats and raccoons, in March. The man admitted to capturing the animals with baited traps and drowning them in a river, claiming it was to protect his crops and that returning the animals to nature was not wrong. Over the past two years, he reportedly killed around 60 animals. Source: KBC
