A 22-year-old construction worker has been arrested and indicted for smuggling approximately 2kg of dried cannabis from Thailand into Japan, concealed in candy boxes for resale purposes. The cannabis, valued at approximately ¥10 million, was discovered in checked luggage at Fukuoka Airport on November 12. Authorities also arrested a 26-year-old restaurant owner who had communicated with the suspect via social media. This marks the largest cannabis seizure at Fukuoka Airport since 2003. Source: NHK
