Kyuden Rejects All Anti-Nuclear Proposals

At its June 26 shareholders meeting in Fukuoka, Kyushu Electric Power rejected 17 shareholder proposals, including calls to halt operations at the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant in Kagoshima and to cancel plans for a third reactor. President Kazuhiro Ikebe stated there are no current plans to build another reactor, citing a need to consider national policy and future energy demands. The company also confirmed a leadership change, appointing Masaru Nishiyama as president—the first change in seven years. Nishiyama emphasized a continued focus on regional growth and renewable energy expansion. Source: NHK
