Low-cost carrier Aero K launched a new regular route between Kitakyushu and Cheongju, South Korea, on September 30, marking the airport’s first new international service in six years. The Airbus A320 flights operate three times weekly, with 172 passengers on the inaugural flight. Cheongju, located in central South Korea, provides access to a wider inbound market beyond Seoul. Kitakyushu Airport now has two scheduled international routes, joining Jin Air’s Incheon service, with further expansion planned by Star Flyer in 2026. Source: Kitakyushu Airport
