Fukuoka Police Officer Referred to Prosecutors

A 51-year-old Fukuoka Prefectural Police superintendent was referred to prosecutors on October 23 for allegedly filming under a woman’s skirt on a subway train in June. The officer, Koji Tanaka, headed the Forensics Division and reportedly stored about 3,800 images and 100 videos of women on his phone, including 100 upskirt shots and 80 taken while on duty. He admitted to the allegations and resigned after receiving a three-month suspension. Police have requested a strict indictment. The case follows several misconduct incidents within the Fukuoka police this year, including voyeurism, drunk driving, and sexual harassment. Source: KBC / Asahi
