Fukuoka Officer Referred For Drunk Cycling

A Fukuoka Prefectural Police officer was referred to prosecutors for allegedly riding a bicycle while under the influence of alcohol in Nakagawa City around 11 p.m. in August. The officer, assigned to a local station, received a pay reduction as disciplinary action on October 23. The oversight office said it responded based on established procedures. The case followed other misconduct this year, including an illicit-photography referral involving a senior officer and disciplinary measures against two others for sexual harassment. The incidents have prompted renewed scrutiny of internal management. Source: KBC
