Tokyo Shoko Research’s Fukuoka branch released its “¥10 Billion Company Ranking” for Kyushu and Okinawa for fiscal 2024 (April 2024 to March 2025). The number of companies with annual sales exceeding ¥10 billion increased 2.4% year on year to 821, while total combined sales rose 5.1% to ¥34.0477 trillion. Both figures increased for the fourth consecutive year. By industry, the number of qualifying companies grew in four sectors: construction; services and transportation; retail; and wholesale. In terms of total sales, the construction sector posted the highest growth rate at 15.4%, driven by defense-related demand, semiconductor-related investment, and redevelopment projects. By prefecture, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Okinawa each recorded all-time highs in both the number of companies and total sales. Source: FIBA
