Cellist Julie Sévilla-Fraysse and pianist Madoka Fukami perform a duo recital presented as a special concert of the Kyoto French Music Academy. Both active as soloists, the two musicians have also developed their partnership through performances and study in Japan and abroad.
Titled “A Franco-Japanese Musical Dialogue,” the program explores the meeting of musical sensibilities shaped in France and Japan through the interplay of cello and piano. Works span different eras and styles, including pieces by Marin Marais, Chopin, Fauré, Debussy, Tōru Takemitsu, and Olivier Messiaen, bringing together music from distinct cultural backgrounds.
