Kyushu Sake Brewery Fair is a spring tradition that brings breweries from Kyushu and across Japan to Hakata Ekimae Hiroba. Supervised by Sumiyoshi Shuhan, a driving force in Fukuoka’s sake culture, the event brings together 29 breweries from across Kyushu and 24 from Honshu. In addition to event-exclusive sake and seasonal labels, food that pairs well with sake will also be available, offering a casual introduction to sake culture in the open space beneath the station’s large roof.
To enjoy the sake, visitors first purchase a cup (¥100, or a limited-edition original guinomi for ¥800), then buy their drink of choice at each brewery booth, where it is poured into the same cup each time. Wine and beer are served by the glass at their respective booths. Payment by cash or PayPay is accepted.
This year, from Mar 20 (Fri, holiday) to 22 (Sun), the event will collaborate with Hana no Saiten: Fukuoka Flower Show 2026 at the botanical garden, with dried flower sales and workshops. Flower shops and yatai food stalls will also line the venue, adding to the festive atmosphere where flowers and alcohol can be enjoyed together.
