Oita Hovercraft Launches First Night Cruise Service

Oita Daiichi Hoverdrive announced that its Beppu Bay sightseeing hovercraft service will begin nighttime operations on June 19, marking the first night cruise in the vessel’s history. The new service will depart every Friday at 7:45 p.m. from the Oita City terminal and operate for approximately 30 minutes. Advance reservations for the inaugural cruise will open on June 15, with tickets priced at ¥2,000 for adults and ¥1,000 for children. The company said the service is aimed at commuters and visitors interested in viewing Beppu Bay’s sunset and nighttime scenery from the water. The hovercraft operator has already expanded daytime sightseeing services and is also considering launching nighttime operations on its Oita Airport route later this summer.
