Kyocera To Open Isahaya Factory

Kyocera will begin operations at its new manufacturing plant in Isahaya, Nagasaki Prefecture, on September 1, with production ramping up in stages, the company announced on July 1. Construction began in September 2024, and total investment through fiscal 2028 is expected to reach JPY68 billion. The six-story, 80,000-square-meter facility will manufacture ceramic components for semiconductor production equipment and electronic packages used in advanced devices. Kyocera expects the factory to achieve annual production capacity worth about JPY25 billion after fiscal 2030. The company also plans JPY110 billion in capital investment for its core components business during fiscal 2026 as it expands production to meet growing demand driven by artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing.
