JR Kyushu has reached a basic agreement with SBI Holdings and other partners to develop banking, securities and insurance services. The company aims to launch the services during fiscal 2027. An SBI-developed app for managing accounts and insurance would connect with JR Kyushu’s JR Kyupo points program. Proposed features include points earned according to deposit balances and the purchase of shares or investment funds using accumulated points. JR Kyushu hopes to use its roughly five million web members to expand revenue beyond transport as Kyushu’s population declines. Source: NHK News / FBS News
