Man arrested over alleged cocaine smuggling at Fukuoka Airport

Police arrested a 29-year-old Dominican national on suspicion of smuggling cocaine into Japan through Fukuoka Airport. The man, who described himself as a taxi driver, allegedly brought in about 1.2 kilograms in a suitcase on Sep. 14. The drugs had an estimated street value of approximately 28 million yen. Police say the cocaine was discovered during an airport baggage inspection. The suspect admitted entering Japan as a drug courier, according to police. Source: RKB News / TNC News
