A small animal found in a cockpit caused the cancellation of a Japan Air Commuter flight from Fukuoka to Kagoshima on Oct. 19, 2026. The aircraft had been scheduled to leave at 12:50 p.m. Staff could not capture the animal, raising concern that it might chew wiring or otherwise compromise safe operation. The discovery came before boarding, and the 43 booked passengers were offered alternative transport information and refunds. No other flights were affected, and the airline is investigating how the animal entered and checking the aircraft’s condition. Source: NHK News / Asahi Shimbun
