Fukuoka Airport recorded its highest first-half passenger totals for both domestic and international services, KBC reports. Figures released on Nov. 5 show approximately 9.46 million domestic passengers and 4.89 million international passengers in the first half of fiscal 2026. Additional flights to South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, plus Malaysia Airlines service from September, supported traffic despite reductions in China flights. The airport expects an interim net profit of 3.5 billion yen, marking a third consecutive profitable period. The TABISIA complex connected to the domestic terminal is scheduled to open in summer 2027, targeting visitors who are not taking flights. Source: KBC News / Nikkei
