Police are investigating the theft of approximately two tons of kiwifruit from a field in Yame’s Kurogi district, TNC reports. The stolen crop is valued at about 800,000 yen. Investigators believe it disappeared between mid-September and Oct. 31. The grower reported the loss on Oct. 31, and the mountainous site has no security cameras. Police are considering the possibility that the fruit was taken for resale. Source: TNC News / Nishinippon Shimbun
