Kurume Tsutsuji (azalea) Festival, now in its 60th year, is one of the biggest plant festivals in Japan. As well as azalea viewing (over 2,000 azalea on show!) there will be flower, plant and bonsai markets, a model garden and bonsai exhibitions. On the weekend, there will be a gardening workshop, a charity auction, lectures and several other events. Buy Kurume food and drink too, such as bento and sake! From late April, there will also be a Hydrangea exhibition.
