Immerse yourself in some seaside excitement this May at one of Japan’s oldest and largest port festivals, Moji Port Festa. Since its inception in 1934 visitors have been able to experience the fun of the famous “banana auction” (said to have originated at Moji Port), browse the flea market, and see local dances, bands and drum groups. Stick around for the festival’s climax on Sunday, a Celebratory Parade with over 2,500 participants! Vessels from the Marine Self Defence Force and Japanese Coast Guard will also be open to the public on both days.
