Ainou – Celtic Music Meets the Art of Noh

START: Mar 12, 2016 END: Mar 12, 2016

Celtic music meets Noh at this one-of-a-kind performance! Takehiro Kunugui, who was Japan’s first fiddler and is still one of its best, plays Celtic jams with his band Tabula Rasa whilst Yukinori Takao, a rising star from Fukuoka, performs Noh. Takao was designated as a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property of Noh Play in 2011, and you might say Noh runs in his blood: he is the son of Yoshihito Takao, a leading authority on Noh in Kyushu. Don’t miss this chance to not only see two pros in action, but to experience the lively strains of Irish music mixing with the stately movements of Noh!
