One of Japan’s leading pottery markets stretches approximately 4 km from JR Kami-Arita Station to Arita Station, lined with over 400 stores dealing in various ceramics. Not far from the main street is “Arita Será,” the world’s largest Arita ware shopping area, sprawling over about 20,000 tsubo (approximately 66,000 square meters) and bustling with specialty ceramic shops. The Tonbai Wall Street features cafes, and in front of Aritakan, morning porridge is sold from 6 am (limited to 300 bowls daily at ¥600). While visiting in person offers a unique experience, an online Arita Ceramic Fair is also available for those who prefer to shop from the comfort of their home. This virtual market runs from April 27 at 9 am to May 5, allowing for a limited time to explore Arita’s exquisite ceramic offerings online.
